Omarchy

I have been using Omarchy now for about 13 months. It was July 2025. Just a bit after I got hooked on Claude. And it was perfect time to switch to Linux.

Windows and macOS feel sluggish and unpleasant after using Omarchy.

I can’t imagine using anything other than Arch + Hyprland now, not even another Linux distro.

Could I have done this on my own? Sure. Especially these days, with AI.

But I trust this amazing chef. He has freakin' good taste.

Even though I’ve used various Linux distros and spent the last 20 years tinkering with Linux (both servers and desktops), I probably never would have gone this deep on my own.

To set up my system, it is quite simple:

  • I install Omarchy
  • load my SSH key
  • clone my custom Arch repo
  • run a script to uninstall what I don't need, install what I do, set up my favorite font etc., and voilà - my OS is fully ready. Per my liking, exactly as I want! Customized in depth, and you can't do that with MacOS or Windows. Also, no weird updates popping in my face or forcing me to reboot. I don't want to reboot. I want to run my PC for 10 days straight.
