Software Architect & AI EngineerOpen-source tools and AI products of my own: Wayscriber, Ask DHH, CaseLab, CommandDeck, Harnet, and an on-premise document assistant.
- Launched Wayscriber, a Rust screen-annotation tool for Linux, and grew it to 750 GitHub stars and nearly 10,000 downloads over 55 releases in its first year.
- Built and launched Ask DHH (askdhh.com), a public .NET and Vue AI app that estimates DHH's views from his writing, with citations.
- Built CaseLab, a multi-tenant Next.js and TypeScript learning platform with live evidence release and revision history.
- Built an on-premise .NET and Blazor document assistant that answers staff questions with source citations, using local Ollama models.
- Developed CommandDeck, a C# and .NET Native AOT launcher for Linux that searches apps, files, windows, and mail in under 9 ms (p95) across 100,000 indexed items.
- Created Harnet, a C# and .NET AI coding agent with Anthropic and OpenAI models, MCP tools, crash-safe sessions, and a terminal UI, covered by more than 2,000 automated tests.

Architect & Solo DeveloperRebuilt a 20-year-old operations system as a platform for multiple businesses. It covers quotes, regular maintenance, field work, inventory, invoices, and payments.
- Connected quotes and work orders to schedules, completed work, and payments. Added partial invoices so staff could bill for part of an order.
- Automated regular maintenance work. The system creates service orders and schedules visits based on each contract and how often it requires service.
- Built tools to plan daily schedules, assign crews, dispatch technicians, and track work-order status.
- Added service checklists, equipment and asset records, photo attachments, and tools to track technician work hours.
- Built tools to manage inventory and purchasing, including product catalogs, buy lists, purchase orders, packing lists, and stock transfers.
- Connected orders and invoices to Converge for card payments and deposits through its hosted payment pages.
- Built reports on sales, unfinished work, contribution margins, inventory demand, and truck operations to help staff make daily business decisions.
- Built a customer portal where customers can view orders, invoices, service schedules, and reports from completed visits.
- Organized the code by business area using CQRS and EF Core. Built the staff interface in Blazor, with SignalR for chat and task-board updates.
- Designed the system, wrote the code, and kept it running in production as the only engineer.

Ask DHHGive it a statement and see what DHH might make of it. Ask DHH searches his public writing and interviews, then gives a likely take with references back to the sources. It says when there isn't enough evidence.
- Built ingestion for public writing and interview transcripts, preserving publication dates and speaker attribution so answers can be traced back to their sources.
- Combined pgvector semantic search with PostgreSQL full-text search, then ranked the evidence using relevance, source authority, speaker attribution, and date.
- Added likely-position and generated-reply modes, with server-side citation checks and handling for questions with insufficient evidence.
- Built the ASP.NET Core API and Vue frontend, with generated API types, shareable answers, and support for hosted Cloudflare models or local Ollama models.
HarnetA personal coding agent in C# on .NET 11, rebuilt to follow the architecture of the pi coding agent, with a Roslyn-backed C# language service that other agents can use too.
- Built native Anthropic and OpenAI providers, including the OpenAI Codex subscription lane, behind one model interface.
- Implemented the coding tools, MCP tools, and crash-safe sessions stored as JSONL or SQLite in pi's session format.
- Added a terminal UI plus headless and ACP hosts, so the same agent runs interactively, from scripts, or inside an editor.
- Extracted the Roslyn-backed C# language intelligence into a standalone MCP server, so any coding agent gets real C# diagnostics.
- Kept the build warning-free and the project graph enforced by architecture tests, with more than 2,000 automated tests.
CaseLabA learning platform where instructors share evidence and learners explain their reasoning. It keeps the history of their work, including feedback and revisions, so instructors can see how their thinking develops.
- Designed the workflow around immutable case versions and evidence-backed reasoning blocks. Citations are typed as supports, contradicts, or context. Submission attempts and returned assessments are immutable, and revisions keep their history.
- Built instructor authoring and live evidence release, learner workspaces and feedback, an interactive public tour, and short-lived isolated demo sandboxes.
- Implemented tenant-scoped server authorization, optimistic concurrency, role-separated PostgreSQL access, durable Graphile Worker jobs, and transactional Socket.IO invalidations with polling fallback.
- Packaged the self-hosted stack with Nginx and Docker Compose, plus quarantined file handling, signed backup/restore verification, observability, and an optional authorization-filtered local Ollama RAG adapter.
On-Premise RAG Knowledge AssistantAn assistant that helps staff find answers in company documents, with references back to the sources. It runs on the company's own machines and says when the documents don't cover a question.
- Built the full RAG pipeline end to end: TXT/PDF extraction, text normalization, overlapping chunking, and batched embeddings indexed in PostgreSQL + pgvector behind an HNSW cosine index.
- Every answer uses only the retrieved context. Citations are rebuilt in C# from the source records rather than taken from model output, so the system cannot invent a policy or fake a source.
- Runs fully local on Ollama models, qwen3:14b for chat and nomic-embed-text for embeddings, so sensitive business documents never leave the network and no third-party AI API is involved.
- Shipped the whole product: streaming chat UI, authenticated upload, re-index, and delete, background ingestion, health checks, and a Q&A evaluation set to tune retrieval, thresholds, and prompts.
Maintenance & Repair Services PlatformRebuilt a 20-year-old operations system as a multi-tenant cloud product.
- Replaced a legacy system with 500k+ lines of modern C# spanning scheduling, billing, and work-order domains.
- Kept core latency under 50 ms and uptime at 99.9% while shipping new features every week.
- Designed domain-driven modules with CQRS and event-driven automation, including thousands of recurring maintenance tasks.
- Handled architecture, implementation, and production operations as the only engineer.
WayscriberA Wayland-native screen annotation and presentation tool written in Rust. It puts a drawing layer over any app so you can annotate, zoom, and capture, then gets out of the way. Open source on GitHub.
- Built a complete annotation toolkit with pressure-sensitive pen and highlighter input, shapes, arrows, text, sticky notes, blur, screen eyedropper, selection, and full undo/redo.
- Designed persistent boards, pages, and named sessions alongside ZoomIt-style zoom, screen freeze, click highlights, light passthrough, and PNG/PDF capture workflows.
- Implemented native tablet and touchscreen input, multi-monitor workflows, command and radial palettes, configurable toolbars, and roughly 130 rebindable actions.
- Shipped an optional Rust GUI configurator and maintain APT, RPM, AUR, Nix, and direct-download packages for the major Wayland compositors.
CommandDeckA keyboard-first command palette for Omarchy and Hyprland. One search field launches apps, finds files and Hyprland config keys, switches windows, and runs Omarchy actions. Open source on GitHub.
- Built a Native AOT C# daemon with an SQLite FTS5 index. Warm search across 100,000 indexed items runs under 9 ms (p95), and validation fails if it reaches 20 ms.
- Searches applications, files and their contents, Hyprland config keys down to the file and line, windows and workspaces, user services, Omarchy actions, snippets, and opt-in clipboard history.
- Made it keyboard-first and mouse-complete: Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+9 run the top results, Ctrl+K opens a result's actions, and F1 lists every shortcut.
- Added an optional AI assistant (Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or Grok) under daemon-enforced trust levels. No telemetry; history, clipboard, AI, and extensions stay off until you turn them on.
LiveGamesA browser-based real-time multiplayer platform with seven games, skill-based matchmaking, persistent progression, and live social play.
- Built seven multiplayer games: Connect Four, Typing Race, Word Duel, Speed Math, Tic-Tac-Toe, Rock Paper Scissors, and four-player Ludo.
- Implemented skill-based matchmaking for guests and registered players, with real-time game state, spectating, match chat, and rematch flows over SignalR.
- Persisted match results, XP, levels, ranks, and global and per-game leaderboards through ASP.NET Core Identity and EF Core.
- Automated build, test, publish, health checks, EF migrations, and systemd deployment to a self-hosted Linux server with GitHub Actions.
Veridos Digital IdentityRebuilt government identity issuance services onto a modern .NET + Camunda stack.
- Reimplemented backend services from scratch with Camunda process orchestration.
- Launched IdentityServer-based authentication for multi-tenant government workflows.

Deutsche Telekom Cloud MigrationMigrated an enterprise platform to modern ASP.NET Core and Azure without downtime.
- Migrated the platform from .NET Framework 4.7 to .NET Core 3.1 with zero downtime and cut CI build times by over 40%.
- Automated the Azure deployment pipeline from dev through production, which cut release cycles from weeks to same-day.
- Unified authentication across five internal apps and the corporate identity providers with IdentityServer, and login support tickets dropped.
- Set up cross-team quality gates and rollback playbooks. The multi-country release shipped on schedule with zero production incidents.

I care about the code I ship
I work with founders and engineering teams to build and look after their software. My work spans the backend, frontend, databases, and deployment. I've spent most of my time with .NET and JavaScript.
I've built new products, rebuilt older platforms, and helped get struggling projects back on track. That work has taken me through SaaS, marketplaces, finance, and field services.
Since 2015 I've worked remotely as an independent architect and consultant: 12+ MVPs and platform rebuilds for SaaS, marketplace, and enterprise clients, CI/CD set up from scratch on Azure, DigitalOcean, Heroku, and private Linux servers, and a five-person team I led, reviewing code and working with clients on requirements.
I stay involved in the code and deployment because it helps me understand how the whole system behaves.
I keep a library of templates and starter packages from past projects, so a new project starts from working code instead of an empty repository.
I choose the stack to fit the project. C# and .NET are the tools I know best.
